Life on this planet will go extinct. In like a million years or so, unless we go all oppenheimer with it and blast ourselves out of existence. But would that really be a bad thing? I am aware that sounds rather pessimistic but please, hear me out.
To begin with, the current state of those who hold the power leaves a lot to be desired. We have the orange bringer of doom in the white house. We have the man who sold the disabled in number 10. We have Putin. There is a trending rise of far right views becoming mainstream. It is all very much doom and gloom. So much so, I doubt the greens could save us with their unbearable positivity. We live on the edge of a knife when it comes to the current political landscape. For example if the MP for Clacton-on-Sea who spends more time literally anywhere but Clacton-on-Sea and his band of misogynistic elves win office a lot of bad things will happen in quick succession. We have seen it in America with ICE acting as its own militia, detaining people left and right. And those who get deported to a foreign jail have no due process on getting back home. It is incredibly shady. We also have a crack down on the rights of those who deviate from the norm.
DEI is a phrase that leaves the leader of the free worlds mouth whenever he gets the chance to put them down. Diversity is great. That goes without saying. Working with a group of people who all have different experiences and come from overall different walks of life is what makes meeting people so great. I would hate to meet the same 4 white men over and over. Because let’s be honest, they are all the same and they are all called Keith or Dennis. America has become the thing it swore to destroy, only with less Ewan McGregor. If the UK follows down this road, it will be very bad. This doesn’t even mention Tyrants such as Vladimir Putin and his completely insane and unjustified war in Ukraine. It also doesn’t go without saying Benjamin Netanyahu trying to take Palestine away from the Palestinians. Whilst I am on that topic, Free Palestine and Bring Netanyahu in on charges for his horrendous actions. With all of these seeming Villains in power, would it really be so bad if the world went bang?
How about Climate change? We are rapidly approaching the point of no return. People seemingly don’t care that our planet will be irreversibly damaged. The futures of our young will be damaged beyond repair before they are even born. We have these massive drilling companies such as Shell and BP not caring about anything but one thing. Money. When they say money is the route of all evil, I know full well what is meant now. Large portions of our planet will become uninhabitable leaving millions as climate refugees if we don’t act now. But acting now would mean profits could fall. And you and I both know that the evil bastards that run these companies couldn’t possibly have that. Whilst the move to clean green energy is happening, it is not happening quick enough. Along with the oil and drilling companies spending millions to lobby for more power, more drilling rights, it is unlikely we will make it in time to stop the damage occurring.
On the topic of Money, Billionaires will bring this planet to its knees before allowing someone a day off because they are unwell. Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, Mark Zuckerberg. There is a list of truly evil people who seem to hoard wealth for themselves and do not care whose lives they destroy in the process. Elon Musk for example is actively working in a government he was not elected into, slashing budgets of whatever he sees fit, also know as whatever fits his agender. Jeff Bezos is just an Austin Powers villain. There is no tip toeing around that fact, He is a straight up Austin Powers Villain. Mark Zuckerberg has access to all of our data and has made millions selling it to the highest bidder. Even Bill Gates, he was friends with Jeffery Epstine, AFTER the charges were brought against him. There are no good billionaires, just like there are no good millionaires. The only type of good rich person is a rich person who immediately gives their wealth away for the betterment of man. Personally I have no clue why anyone would want to be a billionaire. It seems nonsensical. What do you get out of that deal? Power? Well Yes, but that has got to feel hollow, only having any sort of say because your coin purse is the biggest. You can’t even do the Scrooge McDuck money pit bit, because money does not act like water. You will get really badly hurt by trying that.
There are many reasons that earth going bang would be a good thing. Some of these reasons aren’t even that big. People who chew loudly, they can burn in hell. People who claim their child is special when in reality he’s a little shit. They can go all the way away. People who post pictures of their food online. Why? Just eat the food. That special group of people who idolize Margaret Thatcher. She was a succubus, only she fed on misery. There are so many reasons they earth ending would be great. But should it happen?
I have it on good authority that it probably wouldn’t be too good. Whilst it is nice to think about, not having to worry about bills or responsibility or loud chewers every again. There are some nice things about the earth. Sometimes it can be pretty. Like really pretty. I recently visited Sterling and it was so very nice to look at. Just a nice peaceful place with an ominous castle in the distance. Perfection. People can be good as well, getting rid of earth means getting rid of the good people. People who fight for truth, against injustice, like Batman, but better than Batman because he’s a fictional character and is a billionaire with Daddy Issues. If we go bang, Astriallia is gone, and whilst their animals can definitely die in a hail of fire and debry, its people are legends and they have a labour government which actually stands behind the people, not the corporations. We’d lose Borderlands 2, that would be awful. We’d also lose Red Pandas, Red Pandas are so very stupid, and I love it. Did you know they get on their hindlegs to be scary and intimidate others. They are so small. It is brilliant.
What I am trying to say is this, Earth isn’t perfect. There are a lot of bad things that go on. We have awful leaders, awful billionaires, awful companies, awful climate change plans. There is a lot to be absolutely miserable about. However, there is good. If I am having a particularly pessimistic day, I try to think of those good things, and good people. You should too. Make yourself a list of things that are good about the world, and on days which the world seems absolutely awful, think of them. If you asked my mother, it would be tea, soap operas and George Michael. If you asked one of my friends, he would say The Toys to Life series Skylanders and his almost worrying obsession with it. Whatever it takes to see the good in the world, you should use it. Because the world going bang wouldn’t save us from all our problems. It would simply mean those problems are too much for us to fix. I don’t want an alien race finding us and assuming we were cowards. I am not a coward. How dare you, you Alien Bastards!
